GRILLED PEACHES

Sweet, caramelized peaches kissed by the grill and finished with warm spices. Whether served on their own or paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, they're a simple dessert that captures the flavors of late summer and early autumn.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 4 ripe peaches, halved and pits removed
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

INSTRUCTIONS

PREPARE THE GRILL

Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium heat.

MAKE THE SUGAR MIXTURE

In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice.

PREPARE THE PEACHES

Brush the cut side of each peach half with the melted butter.

Place the peaches cut side down on the grill, then brush the tops with the remaining melted butter.

GRILL

Cook for 4-6 minutes, or until the peaches develop beautiful grill marks and begin to soften.

Carefully flip each peach half over and sprinkle the tops evenly with the brown sugar mixture.

Continue grilling for another 3-5 minutes, or until the brown sugar has melted and the peaches are tender.

SWEET OR SAVORY

This recipe is written as a simple dessert with a warm brown sugar and spice topping.

If you'd like to use grilled peaches in a savory dish, simply leave off the brown sugar mixture. You can still brush the peaches with the melted butter, or substitute olive oil instead before grilling.
