Ingredients

Servings
Serving size 2 pancakes
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 2 egg , beaten
  • 1.75 cups milk
  • 0.25 cup butter , melted

These fluffy homemade pancakes are made completely from scratch with simple pantry ingredients—no pancake mix or buttermilk needed. They cook up golden on the outside and soft and fluffy in the middle for an easy family breakfast that's ready in about 15 minutes.

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the beaten eggs, milk, and melted butter.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined. A few small lumps are perfectly fine—avoid overmixing.

Heat a lightly buttered griddle or skillet over medium heat.

Pour the batter onto the hot griddle, using about ¼ cup for each pancake.

Cook until bubbles begin to form on the surface and the edges look set, about 2–3 minutes.

Flip and cook the other side until golden brown, about 1–2 minutes more.

Serve warm with butter, maple syrup, or your favorite toppings.
